மேலேயுள்ள செய்தியைப் பாருங்கள். தமிழக அரசின் நகர மற்றும் ஊரமைப்பு இயக்குநரகத்தின் இணையத்தளத்தில், கிராமங்களின் பெயர்களை ‘டிராப்-டவுன்’ பட்டியலில் சேர்ப்பதில் சிக்கலாம்! அழுவதா, சிரிப்பதா என்று தெரியவில்லை. மென்பொருள் பற்றிய புரிதல் இவ்வளவு குறைவாக, படித்த அதிகாரிகள் இடமே இப்படி இருக்கிறதே என்று. இதை நம்மால் சரியாக செய்யமுடியவில்லை என்றால், இந்தியா ஒரு மென்பொருள் வல்லரசு என்று சொல்வதில் ஒரு அர்த்தமும் இல்லை.

Driving License Renewal
I got my driving license in 1994, which was soon after I joined college. It was an exciting moment then after I successfully proved to the inspector that I can bend/turn in an S shape a Car and a motorbike. I qualified for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Motor Cycle (M/CYCL) categories. I had learnt to drive a car and bike few years before that on my own, by starting/reversing/turning/parking the car inside my residential campus. In 1994 I don’t remember writing any written test. Voting in Indian Parliament Elections 2014
Unless I am out of country, I have never missed voting for representative elections (corporation / assembly / parliament) from the year I became eligible to vote which was nearly two decades ago. Today it was turn for Lok Sabha (Indian Parliament) elections to be held in Chennai and rest of Tamil Nadu, I dutifully voted. The arrangements by Election commission was simple but efficient, the whole process took less than 10 minutes including the queue time. The booth for my street was about 200 metres from my house. With the arrival of a new Government, Tamil Nadu got its new IT Secretary – it was Dr Santosh Babu, IAS. Fortunately continuity was maintained as Dr Santosh was earlier Managing Director of ELCOT and worked in the same department under previous IT Secretary Mr P.W.C.Davidar. When Dr Santosh Babu (IAS), Managing Director of ELCOT invited me to present in this year CETIT Conference, I had not known much about the event. Then searching on the Internet, I learned that “CETIT 2010 is the second year of the conference-cum-exhibition on e-Governance organized by FICCI in association with ELCOT.
