Download a copy of your social media data as a backup

    31st May 2021 /

These services make it easy to download your data across their services. You request the data, through the services settings page and they will email you once the compressed file containing all your data (posts, likes, images, etc.) is ready. In the email, you will find a link to download the actual file. Remember, the file size can be huge, so do this on a broadband connection. By posting this, I am not implying…

Engineers and Documentation – Random thought

    28th May 2021 /

Today I had this thought and I am penning it down immediately here. Later, I will try and expand on this. Thanks. Fact:  #Engineers don’t like to write #documentation. Probable reasons: No one reads them or gives a ‘like’ for a good one. Only the code matters (it runs) & brings $$$. Today, source #code have become self-explanatory (?). Possible Solution: #ArtificalIntelligence to analyse & generate tutorial videos :-)

Are we dumb (or) passwords are dumb?

    30th September 2019 /

Am I dumb (or) is the process we are using to secure our devices is dumb – you be the judge! I am in the process of (regretfully) resetting my iPad Pro 2018 11″ to factory settings, as I couldn’t remember the passcode. As per Apple, if you forget the passcode for an iOS device like an iPad, the only way to use it again will be to reset it to factory settings, this will erase all the contents in the device. Normally, I have a mature process to handle this very situation (of remembering passwords)- where my passwords are stored in a password manager and the encrypted data file…

    How to improve laptop sales?

    25th September 2019 /

The easiest way to improve #laptop sales will be, for PC manufacturers and Apple to include a great #camera (same as in smartphones) & a far-field #microphone array with noise-cancellation (as in Alexa Echo devices). I will happily pay a few hundred dollars more for the convenience of having them inbuilt. #obvious
