I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts with CEOs of Generative AI startups who branched out of OpenAI, Google, and other big tech companies. I’ve noticed a common pattern:

️⃣Every CEO believes in the potential of the new LLM models. This is obvious, but it’s worth noting that these are founders who have dedicated their lives to AI research and development. They believe that LLMs have the potential to revolutionize many industries 🏭 and improve the lives of millions of people.

️⃣Each CEO acknowledges the potential for AI to be used for malicious purposes. They recognize that LLMs can be used to generate fake news, disinformation, and other harmful content. However, they believe that their own companies’ AI models are different because of their constitutions 📕, guardrails 🚧, and training sets. They argue that their AI models will only be used for good!!!

️⃣All of the CEOs welcome government ⚖️regulations. They understand that generative AI is a powerful technology that needs to be regulated responsibly. They are working with governments to develop regulations that will promote the responsible use of AI and protect consumers. This is probably the first time in history, that the technology industry is begging for government intervention, and we will be right to doubt their motivations.

️⃣I agree with the CEOs that the genie 🧞is out of the box with generative AI. It’s impossible to stop the development of this technology, so we need to focus on using it responsibly. I believe that having open-source LLMs is a force for good. It makes AI more accessible and transparent and allows more people to contribute to the development of responsible AI.
