TV Show Review

The Good Place (2016)

The Good Place is an American fantasy-comedy television series. Eleanor (played by Kristen Bell ) is sent to “The Good Place”, say a Heaven-like place in the afterlife in a case of mistaken identity. Everyone there except her assigned soul mate is unaware of her morally dodgy past. She must hide her morally imperfect personality and try to become a better person.

This TV Show was silly and stupid (in a fun way), yet I finished watching the whole season. There is no logic, yet it was intriguing to watch, especially the twist at the end of Season 1 was unexpected and compelling. The TV show created by  Michael Schur was a delight because of a fine casting, especially D’Arcy Carden as Janet, a robot guide and William Jackson Harper as Chidi Anagonye, an ethics professor hailing from Senegal.

I am waiting for Season 2 to show up on Netflix. Available on Netflix India.

Update Feb 2020:

I have watched the remaining three seasons as they got released. The second season was a bit slow, but the third and fourth picked pace and were thoroughly enjoyable. Don’t miss this show.
