This week, I am on my regular business trips to the USA, this time for Microsoft Mix ’08 conference. On the way, I stopped for a few days and stayed in New York with my mentor, well-wisher and friend Mr Shivraj, a pioneer of Programming Journals and Workshops in India, the publisher of the (then) famous Sysreader magazine.

This is my second trip to the Big Apple. The first time was in 1999, when I went on a cross-country spree of seeing the east and west coasts of the USA – first time visitor’s enthusiasm! During that visit to New York, which was en route to Niagra falls, I saw many of the touristy places including Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Empire State Building and the (then standing tall) World Trade Center (sad!). I missed out Times Square, a miss that was corrected this week, thanks to Mr Shivraj.

Roads in New York smoke. You see constant hissing and fumes from the underground.
