Today, wife and I wanted to try out a (new) restaurant for dinner, one we hadn’t gone before. Driving down Nungambakkam High Road, I spotted this sign – “The Dhaba Estd 1986 Delhi” in Isphani Centre, that reminded me of a friend telling me this place was good and serving authentic Punjabi Bhōjana. The service was prompt, so was the ambience and the menu had reasonable variety.

We went for a light dinner, which was the following:

  • Gulkand Lassi
  • “Chennai Express” Buttermilk
  • Starter: Paneer Tak-a-Tak – Soft morsels of Paneer tikka tossed on Tawa with onion, tomato cubes and spices
  • Patiala Veg Biryani – vegetable tossed with aromatic basmati pulao and brown onions
  • Papads
The food was good, but I felt it was a bit expensive, the above five items with a bottle of water cost Rs.1600 including Service Charges and GST.
You can give this place, a try for some good “North Indian” khanna.
