Vadapalani Murugan Temple is well-known to most devotees in Chennai, but unaware to many, there is an old Vaishnavaite (Vishnu) Temple next to it. Sri Adhimoola Perumal Temple also called Sri Gajendra Varadaraja Perumal Koil is situated on the road (Palani Andavar Koil St, Vadapalani) leading to the Murugan Temple when you are coming from Arcot Road. Entrance to the temple is ducked in between the many flower shops on the road, you need to look for it or ask the people around.
This is a small temple, the main shrine is for Shri Adhimoola Perumal along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi and there is a separate shrine for Adhi Lakshmi. The temple has Utsavar Sri Venugopala Swami and mini shrines for Sri Ramanujar and Sri Manavala Mamunigal.
