I love having a portable Bluetooth speaker that I can carry around the house, especially when I’m away from my desk and in the mood for some music or a podcast. After parting ways with my JBL Flip 2 and then the JBL Go 2—which I absolutely loved and later passed on to my son—I needed something new. My budget was tight, around INR 1000 to INR 2000, and I also had my eye out for something with good reviews and, if possible, an FM Radio.

Enter the Amkette Pocket Blast Bluetooth Speaker, which cost me INR 1419 (USD 17) from Amazon India. It’s been only a few days, but I’m liking it. It paired up without any fuss with my iPhone, iPad, and Oppo Android. For its size, the sound is pretty good. The FM radio works fine without needing any extra antenna. What’s more, it charges via a USB-C port and can play music from USB drives or a TF card. There’s also an Aux input for a good old-fashioned wired connection. And the on-off switch? Just a simple toggle flick does the job.
