Films where God comes to earth and speaks to the protagonist have a message of good, but in Yaanai Mugathaan there was none I could see. The film follows Ramesh Thilak as he plays a man who seems to be lost and confused throughout the film. Yogi Babu tries his best to save the film with his performance, but without a focused screenplay, his effort is wasted. Mangoidiots gives the film a Rotten rating.
With a cast of talented comedy actors like Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, Ramesh Thilak, and Urvashi, this fantasy film could have been fun and entertaining. Unfortunately, the film is directionless and meandering, with abrupt sequences and dialogue that go on for too long. There is no clear reason or logic given for why the god Ganesha appears to the protagonist or what he accomplishes. Till the end, I was left wondering who really was the hero and where he was going.
