Shivalinga (2017)

Shakthi Vasudevan Directed by P.Vasu, Shivalinga (2017) is a remake of his Kannada film of the same name. Starring Raghava Lawrence, Ritika Singh who had acted in Irudhi Suttru (2016) and Shakthi Vasudevan. The film is of the now familiar Horror-Comedy genre and starring Raghava Lawrence, meant it felt like a sequel to Kanchana films.  The cliche screenplay doesn’t help either.

The story is about a CB-CID officer Shivalingeswaran (Raghava Lawrence) investigating a “declared” suicide of a young man Rahim (Shakthi Vasudevan). Rahim‘s fiance thinks the incident that happened on a running train is a murder. Meanwhile, the officer gets married to Sathya (Ritika Singh). The newly wed relocate to an abandoned bungalow in the town where the incident happened. The ghost of Rahim invades Sathya and rest is easy to be filled in.

Once possessed Ritika Singh‘s transforms to be the male victim effortlessly, brilliant performance, her sports fitness evidently comes handy in the action scenes. Vadivelu makes a mark with his comedy, unlike his appearance in Kaththi Sandai (2016) this one is enjoyable, I wish him all success.

Shivalinga (2017) aims to be a masala entertainer but can be tolerated just for the climax.
