For me, this movie “The Terminal” had everything going for it as if it’s not enough that it was directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks.
It had a storyline around what is likely to happen in an Airport in the USA – a subject that I have wondered about every time I fly. The story is about a man getting stuck at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport as he is denied entry to the US and at the same time not able to return to his country (one of the eastern European Soviet bloc), due to a revolution. An interesting but rare possibility for every passenger. All the characters that you normally see in an airport are brought together in a cohesive fashion. The underlying love story plays an important role and keeps the audience interesting at the edge. A must watch, film.
The movie is believed to be inspired by the true-life incident of Mr Mehran Karimi Nasseri, an Iranian enroute to Britain.
Update 18th January 2021:
- The film is available for streaming with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
- A man named Aditya Singh was found to be living for real in the Chicago O’Hare international airport for three months due to the COVID-19 Pandemic fears!
