Few months back I purchased an entry level Android tablet – Micromax Funbook P300 for Rs.6699. After my testing I gave it away to my Mother-In-Law who wanted to try her hand on Tablets. She was new to using computers in general, so I was not sure how much effort she will put into learning it. Surprisingly she took to it like a duck to water, she is spending few hours everyday with the tablet to watch YouTube & Facebook. So I decided to get her a better tablet.
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 P3100 (review of GSMArena) for Rs.19999 from Croma store in T.Nagar. This device apart from Wi-Fi connectivity has a SIM tray helping you to make Voice Calls and connect to Mobile 3G. The device comes with Android 4.0 OS, 7 Inches 600 x 1024 display, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and weighs about 345Grams. The device feels extremely light, comfortable to hold and the display is gorgeous. Video playback, games and browsing are smooth.
Along with the tablet I got her a full-ear Philips Headphone SHL5000 for Rs.1099, I went this model of headphone because it was light-weight and had a cushion in the inside for comfortable wear.
