TIECON 2020 talk by Mr Deepak Chopra
Like all the events around the world, this year’s TIE CON 2020 global organized by TIE Silicon Valley has become virtual. For me, it was a blessing, as I could attend the event for free (as a TiE Chennai member) and not spend the thousands of dollars travelling to the USA and also the entry ticket fee. Before the main event, they are organizing a series of roadshow events. Today there was a keynote by Mr Vinod Khosla (Founder of Khosla ventures and Sun Microsystems), followed by a talk by Mr Deepak Chopra, the celebrated Indian-American Author of countless self-improvement and well-being books, a guru figure for many around the…

I enjoyed sharing my experience with the students on blogging and was impressed with their curious questions. Agenda Why should you blog? Where to blog? What to blog? What not to blog? Tools to use Why…

Free Virtual Tour of Egyptian Heritage Sites
Like many others, I wish to travel to Egypt to see the great pyramids and the tombs. Egypt Tourism has created 3D virtual walkthroughs (Smithsonian Magazine article) of a few of their historic sites. Today, I visited (virtually) two: the tombs of Meresankh III and elite Egyptian official Menna. It was a fantastic experience. The drawings and the carvings, which are over 4000 years old are still bright and colourful, are simply breathtaking. It takes a few minutes to understand how to navigate them the virtual space with the mouse, but you get the hang of it. There are bright white circles that show up in many places, they are…
