After watching Director Nicole Holofcener’s Enough Said (2013) I watched her recent film The Land of Steady Habits (2018). This is another divorcee settling down film – seems to be a popular theme with the director. The film was watchable; early on the screenplay sets us with an expectation of something different but goes along in a well-beaten path. It is available on Netflix.
Anders Hill (Ben Mendelsohn) has recently divorced & retired from his high-paying job in finance so that he can change his “steady habits”. Sadly he is unable to stop being pulled into his family & community and to then feeling depressed.
