Released in March, I saw this film Valiba Raja (2016) today. Starring Sethu from “Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya” as Karthik and Santhanam as Dr.Raja, a popular shrink, it’s a romantic comedy. Karthik is in one side love with Sweety (played by Nushrat Bharucha) but his parents look for an alliance for him to Shaalu (played by Vishaksha Singh). By the time Sweety falls in love with him, Karthik gets attracted to Shaalu. What happens in between this triangle love is told with good dose of humour and that’s the story for Valiba Raja.
Though we have seen plenty of films with this story Director Sai Gokul Ramanath manages to give a watchable comedy. Santhanam gets limited screen time with the other 3 dominating the screenplay who have all played their individual parts well. Music by Radhan was unmemorable.
