If you have a tight parking space like mine, you might have faced this problem too. Every so often, when I park my sedan, I carelessly misjudge the distance and end up nudging the front bumper against the wall. I have to park as close to the wall as possible to ensure the compound gate remains outside the car so I can close it. But I needed a better solution to avoid these minor, yet annoying, bumps.
At first, I thought of fixing a cushion pad on the wall at the height of my car’s bumper. However, I quickly dismissed the idea since it would take up space and not be very effective. That’s when I recalled seeing those rubber stoppers in mall parking lots—small blocks on the floor that prevent cars from moving too far forward.
With that in mind, I searched on Amazon India and found several options. I chose a rubberised car wheel parking stopper that was 600 mm in length. A pair (one for each wheel) cost INR 1,407 (USD 16). When the package arrived, I was pleased with the quality—it was solid and well-built. However, it didn’t include the bolts and nuts needed to fix it to the ground.

A quick visit to a nearby hardware store solved that problem—I bought six “anchor fastener bolts”, each costing Rs 130. I then hired a local handyman who carefully marked the exact position for installation, ensuring some space between the wall and the car so that a person could walk around if needed. To be extra cautious, I tested parking both head-in and reverse-in before finalizing the placement. Once I was satisfied, he secured the stopper blocks firmly to the ground using the bolts.

Problem solved! Now, I no longer worry about damaging my car or the wall. This simple and effective stopper was worth every rupee I spent.
