Paradise (2023) is a German language science fiction film on Netflix. The plot is about technology that allows trading years of one’s life to another for financial gains. Though it feels like an episode from Black Mirror, thankfully it was not set in a dystopian world. The references to sci-fi were minimal, instead, it was an action film that focused on human emotions, especially selfishness. Overall, it was enjoyable but manages only a Raw from mangoidiots.
There were a few interesting fictional technologies shown on the healthcare side and also on the computer gadgets side. I found the handy tablets in all-white carried by the security staff, and the large tabletop displays similar to Microsoft Pixelviews to be cool. The lead pair playing Max and Elena were good.
