Just like with sex education, it’s smarter to teach students early how to use AI responsibly. Both will shape their lives—and society benefits when they approach each with awareness.
I found the Miami school district’s approach (reported recently in The New York Times) to be a strong step forward. Miami-Dade has trained over 1,000 teachers and is rolling out Google’s Gemini chatbot to more than 100,000 high schoolers. Students are using it to role-play historical figures, receive instant feedback, and assess their writing—while learning to think critically about AI. Link to the article in the first comment.
