Miss You (2024) is a straightforward romcom built on the familiar settings. It’s a light, watchable film starring Siddharth that works in most places but doesn’t rise beyond the ordinary due to its lack of surprises or fresh ideas. Mangoidiots rates it Raw.

The story opens with the now-common Tamil cinema formula: a corrupt minister and his vengeful son. They orchestrate a road kill, thankfully the hero survives miraculously but with a two-year memory gap. What could have been an intriguing tale of mystery and suspense unfolds instead as a regular Kollywood affair, with no real twists to elevate it.

The supporting cast, including Jayaprakash, Anupama Parameswaran, and Bala Saravanan, are underutilized, leaving little impression. Surprisingly for a romcom, the heroine (Ashika Ranganath) is relegated to a near-supporting role. Karunakaran, however, gets a noteworthy part and delivers a good performance.

Siddharth is the film’s backbone, shining in the fight sequences and dance numbers. Unfortunately, the songs, though initially enjoyable, becomes a drag after the second one.

If you temper your expectations, Miss You (2024) can be a passable watch. Just don’t expect anything new or exciting.
