A simple yet useful gadget for video calls
Because many of us are stuck in our homes, as a result, all our meetings with friends and family, working from home, are done through video calls – webinars have become a way of life. I see many, especially the elderly, struggling to hold their phone for long or holding it in a wrong angle – in family Zoom calls you only see their hair or their nostrils :-)
This simple device (Mobile Phone Adjustable/Foldable holder) will help a lot. The model in the picture is made out of Aluminium, it cost about Rs.700 in Amazon. You can get a cheaper model for Rs.150 – 250, depending on the build quality. Get one like this that is adjustable on two axes and has a gap to allow the power cable for charging. Ensure the one which is sturdy and made out of metal – the plastic ones are unstable, so avoid them.
Disclosure: I write reviews about products that I have bought for my usage and paid in full. There were no sponsorship or advertisement or commission of any sort involved in this post.
This model I showed is available in Amazon & Flipkart, but if you are in COVID-19 Red Zones like Chennai, then you can get it in your nearest mobile store. Borrowing the idea, you can improvise one yourself too – there are plenty of DIY videos on how to do one with just packing cardboard box and glue, like this one in YouTube.
