Sri Krishna Jayanthi 2019

எங்கள் வீட்டில் இன்று கொண்டாடியா ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ண ஜெயந்தி பண்டிகை மற்றும் நான் செய்த பூஜை.

In the past (2012 and 2013) I have written about the annual celebration of Sri Krishna Jayanthi in our house. This year too, we had celebrated the same with the usual fanfare and the delicious snacks to eat after the pooja – sweetened butter, Sukku (Dried Ginger) Jaggery, Seedai (Crunchy peanut like Rice snack) and many varieties of fruits!

The annual festival is called “Sri Krishna Jayanthi” in this part of India (Tamil Nadu), in other parts of India, it is celebrated as Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami. Everywhere it is celebrated in reverence and commemoration of the birth of Krishna, the avatar of Lord Vishnu.
