In the last six months, I have ordered over 15 electronic items in total from Snapdeal.com including Toshiba 46 inches TV and several TP-Link wireless devices. I have got the best prices, speedy delivery and always shrink wrapped brand new products as advertised till this instance.
It started on 19th July 2014, when I ordered for a “JBL Flip 2 Wireless Portable Stereo Speaker-Red” for Rs.5780. The price for the same device was over Rs.8000 when I checked in retail outlets including Croma and a shop in Phoenix mall. I was looking for a speaker that I can connect using Bluetooth to my iPad so that I can hear exercise/yoga apps audio louder and connect to my Nokia Lumia 925 using NFC for listening to music albums from Nokia MixRadio. The specs of the speaker were impressive, over 5 hours of battery life on a single charge, 2 x 6 W stereo speakers,100Hz-20Khz (good audio range) and lightweight. The Nokia or Bose speakers were way too expensive for my usage & liking. I didn’t go for other models of JBL like Charge or Pulse as I didn’t need them to be a portable battery pack as well.
The speaker was advertised in Snapdeal to get delivered in a few days but it took 10 days and I got a package on 28th July. I was shocked when I opened the cover, it was a dirtied speaker which was obviously used for many months probably as a demo piece. I know that Snapdeal is a marketplace where thousands of sellers sell and statistically there is bound to be a bad apple and I was betting on the TrustPay 100% guaranteed system for a refund.
I called Snapdeal and they picked up this bad package. After the next few days, I got an email that the return was verified and they will be shipping a new one. Waiting for the next 2 weeks, on August 11th, I got a package. Opening it I found a shrink-wrapped new item of the same specification.
Now I am happy with the product and Snapdeal service. My only complaint is that it took 1 month to get a Bluetooth speaker.
