No one can turn ordinary moments into comedy like Rowan Atkinson, also known as Mr Bean. A few years ago, for Netflix, he did Man vs Bee. It was a good attempt where a bee enters a mansion, and Trevor Bingley, played by Rowan Atkinson, has to face it alone. Now, Trevor Bingley has to house-sit a super premium penthouse in London with a baby. Mangoidiots gives this miniseries a Raw.
On his last day as the local school handyman, Trevor Bingley finds a baby left outside the school doors. He mistakes it for the child of a parent. He even has the infant play Baby Jesus in the nativity play on stage. After realising the baby does not belong to the parents, he takes it with him. He travels to London to work as a house sitter over the holidays. What follows is the usual mishaps and mixes of Rowan Atkinson.
Unlike the series with the bee, the writers have played it safe because a baby is at stake. The infant was not shown to be in any danger, except for the scene where it travels through the laundry chute. This careful handling is understandable, but it leaves us feeling underwhelmed. Most of the scenes were predictable. This robs the viewers of any surprises.
The first three episodes travel rather slowly. However, the last episode featuring the Christmas feast makes watching the whole series enjoyable.
