In the last decade or so, subsequent Corporation councils in Chennai have taken effort in sprucing up and maintaining the left over greenery and public spaces in the city. The city’s residents can feel good that we have parks like Panagal Park, Haddows Road Park, Anna Nagar Tower Park, Jeeva ParkNageswara Rao Park, Natesan Park and others. Construction of Metro rail destroyed many of the public parks but thankfully those near Ashok Nagar & KK Nagar have been restored back.

Today after dropping my son in a class near, myself and wife visited the near-by Sivan Park in K.K.Nagar. It’s a big park and surprisingly well maintained park. There is a sizable play area for kids with stainless steel play equipments, roller staking park (see the picture on top of this page), a big covered hall for yoga, exercise equipments, tennis/badminton playground, lot of greenery with benches to sit, a waterfall and a temple for Lord Siva (hence the name) for spiritual rejuvenance.
