Today my friend from Malaysia had come to Chennai. We planned to do lunch. Since he visits Chennai often he wished I take him to a restaurant that he hasn’t gone before and serves authentic Dosa’s. The first place that came to my mind was the famous Rayar’s Cafe near Kutcheri Road, Mylapore – but the problem is that they are not open for lunch. Then I remembered Isha Group’s Mahamudra restaurant in Luz Church Road, Mylapore. I heard good reviews from my friends who had dined there, Mahamudra is run by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Group.
This was the first time I went to this place and on entering through the gates from main road, I noticed how quite the place was. The restaurant (and SPA) building was surrounded by a garden, making the whole place nicely tucked away from the buzzling traffic of Luz Church Road. The ambience & deco inside the restaurant was tastefully done. We both had few rounds of Dosa, Vadai and Juice. The price was more on the Star Hotel price range, but we felt it worth to pay as we thoroughly enjoyed the food and service.
