Arrival (2016) is a sci-fi film on how a linguist manages to understand and communicate with aliens who have made their arrival at 12 different locations on earth. This alien’s film is taken by Director Denis Villeneuve with a difference, we see alien spacecrafts and catch a glimpse of the aliens but the visuals are noticeably kept simple,…

I am a fan of Star Trek TV Series, I like the way it’s creator Gene Roddenberry and subsequent writers present a different perspective to look at issues prevailing in our human society at large. It’s easier to talk about the conflicts affecting humans due to Religion or Race when your setting is amongst “fictitious” species in imaginative planets out there. I was looking forward to the release of the latest Motion Picture in the series “Star Trek Beyond (2016)”. Starring Chris Pine as Captain James T.Kirk, Beyond’s story is what happens when the crew in Starship USS Enterprise while in Starbase Yorktown are sent on a rescue mission…

It’s not about how it’s done but about what happens if you do it. In the world shown in the film, this technique is used to steal secrets from a victims mind. Dom gets a corporate espionage assignment to plant an idea to the heir apparent of a conglomerate from their business rival. Planting an idea in the subconscious of…

Two years back was when I first heard of “The Martian”, the Sci-Fi novel by Andy Weir. I think it was in one of the Podcast shows in Twit by Leo Laporte, I have been wanting to read the book from then, but today I watched the movie adaptation of it. It’s interesting on how this novel became popular. No book house wanted to publish “The Martian”, Andy Weir self published it on his website one chapter at a time for free, then as a Kindle eBook for 99 cents which became an instant Sci-Fi title, then corporations came rushing to buy rights for Audio book, then a…
