I was attracted by the English title of this Swedish film (Året jag slutade prestera och började onanera), and I watched this film on Netflix. The movie follows a woman in her thirties who is trying to reinvent herself after a failed relationship and her life falling apart. However, the screenplay was a bit all over the place, and more coherence could have made it more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the screenplay was a bit all over the place, more coherence could’ve made it enjoyable. The lead actor Katia Winter has brought the character to life, expressing the feelings and struggles of the woman going through a crisis very well.
Director Erika Wasserman, has done it well in the portions where Hanna tries desperately to save her relationship with her boyfriend with whom she has a little boy, even though she knows it is over. However, the portions near the climax felt cliché and rushed to finish.
