I’ve been testing out a bunch of different AI chatbots lately, and I’m finding that ChatGPT4 and Bing Chat are better at the tasks I’m using them for. Google’s Bard is still pretty new, so it’s not quite ready for primetime yet. But I’m sure it will get better in the future. Here’s are some quick sample outputs I got from each chatbot when I asked them to predict the rating of a movie I never reviewed in my blog:

  • ChatGPT4:  4.5 stars
  • Bing Chat:  4 stars
  • Google Bard:  3 stars

As you can see, ChatGPT4 and Bing Chat were both able to make a more accurate prediction than Google Bard. This is probably because they both have the ability to browse the internet and read reviews from other sources. Google Bard, on the other hand, is limited to the information that I’ve provided it with.
I find it fascinating to see how ChatGPT4 and Bing Chat are able to extract information from the first step (reading a movie review from a third-party source) and then able to relate it to the second step (the kind of movie reviews I have written in the past).

Test 2

On a friend’s suggestion, I tried them to give a travel itinerary for two days to Tanjore and Trichy, two cities in the state of Tamil Nadu. All of them missed the timing when the temples mentioned will be open for prayers (darshan), but on a followup prompt they fixed the oversight.

Overall, I’m still a bit of a fan of ChatGPT4. It’s the most accurate chatbot I’ve tried so far, and it’s pretty good at generating creative text formats like code, scripts, browsing, etc. I’m sure Google Bard will get better in the future, but for now, I think ChatGPT4 is the best option.

Footnote: One thing that I do find annoying about ChatGPT4 is that it has a per-hour limit on the number of prompts you can give it. This can be a pain if you’re trying to do a lot of research or if you’re just curious about a lot of different things. Bing Chat too has a similar limit, but I have not been facing it as it is less useful for coding tasks compared to ChatGPT4.
