When it keeps raining in Chennai for days, my mood dips. I feel unmotivated to do anything. In the December months, I have found a simple cure for this. I pick a random Christmas movie on Netflix and let it play. That was my plan today. I landed on Angel Falls Christmas from 2021. It turned out to be a light watch about a young doctor who finds her way back to love with a little help from angels. Mangoidiots rates it Raw.
The story is set in a small North American town called Angel Falls. Dr Ally, played by Jessica Lowndes, is overworked and has no interest in the festive season. Her boyfriend Josh, played by David Reale, tries to get her to slow down so that they can spend time together. When nothing works, he steps away. This is when two Christmas angels enter Ally’s life. The rest of the film is about whether she finds the joy of the season and resets her life.
The film runs for about eighty-five minutes, which keeps the pace steady. There are no stretched emotional scenes. The Canadian director Jerry Ciccoritti keeps the focus on Dr Ally and the choices she faces as she moves through a difficult phase. The casting works well for Ally, Josh and Gabe. Each of them fits the tone of the story.
Angel Falls Christmas will be on Netflix in India till the end of December 2025.
