Travel Review

Trip to Mysore

On our way back from Nagarhole national park in Kabini, we stayed for a day in Mysore. The last time I had gone to Mysuru was a few years back when we visited the majestic Mysore Palace.

Lalitha Mahal Palace

I had booked for our stay in the famous Lalitha Mahal Palace, which has appeared in many Tamil films including Rajni’s Guru Sishyan (1988), which has now been converted to be a luxury hotel. The hotel Bellman who helped us with our check-in was proud of the place and he insisted we see the suite rooms where celebrities including Rajnikanth stay during their visits.

Mysore Zoo

In the evening, we went to see Mysore Zoo as my son loves to see animals. This is one of the well-maintained Zoos in the country.

Mysore Zoo was created in 1892 on 10 acres (4.0 ha) of the summer palace of Maharaja Sri Chamaraja Wodeyar, and was originally called the Palace Zoo.

Remember, Mysore has plenty to offer, so on your next visit don’t stop with just Brindavan gardens.
