Explanation: Appalam in Tamil Language, is a tasty, crispy, thin waffle like eatable that is normally deep-fried and is an accompaniment to a meal in Indian subcontinent. When added with spices and toppings like onion it becomes a mini snack as well. The hot chilly variations are famous in the annual Trade Fair Exhibition in Chennai Island Grounds. It is also called as Papad and Papadum in other parts of India.
