Maangaram (2017) is a movie about what happens to 4 people whose paths cross each other in Chennai city. A youngster comes to the city to join for a job in a BPO company, a taxi driver comes to the city looking to work here to be able to treat his ailing son, another young man who is in love fights for saving his girl from a gangster, and the girl, the lover works in a BPO firm as HR. In between all this, there are confusions caused due to mistaken identity, a boy kidnapped from his school and a police inspector who has gone bad.
The film feels just like any other kidnapping and rowdy film, what saves it is the last 15 minutes of action. The film stars Sri (Vazhakku Enn 18/9), Sundeep Kishan, Charle, Munishkanth and Regina Cassandra (Rajathandhiram). The conversation Charle has with Sri in the car journey is well written and apt for the storyline. The movie reminded me of Metro (2016) which too was about an innocent turning to be a crime fighter.
