Superman (2025) is a textbook superhero outing from the long‑running franchise. The story itself is very simple. The visuals and the 3D effects bring some “out of the world” action on screen. Overall, the film was fine, but beyond a point, it did not connect with me. Mangoidiots gives it a Raw rating, and I would recommend it only for hardcore fans.

The film opens with Superman stopping a war. Boravia, an ally of the USA, is attacking its neighbour Jarhanpur. To take revenge, the antagonist Lex Luthor, a billionaire, sends a Metahuman called “Hammer of Boravia” and Angela Spica, a human enhanced with nanites, to fight Superman. Gravely injured, Superman retreats to his fortress. The rest of the story is about whether he recovers and returns to take down Luthor.

The action sequences are the highlights. The visuals are brilliant. The lead pair David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have done their parts well. The opening fight between Hammer and Superman, and the one with the giant monster, were both thrilling. In comparison, the climax action felt weaker. The romance between Clark and Lois started well but was not explored further, which was a missed opportunity.

In many Superman stories, the conflict of hiding his identity as Clark is used to tell interesting tales. Here, almost everyone already knows Clark is Superman, which robs the story of that angle. I was not impressed with the antagonist Luthor; he did not feel like a powerful enough villain to match Superman. The sequences with the Pocket Universe were distractions that added no real value to the main conflict. The idea of destroying Metropolis by creating a rift also felt unnecessary and tiring.
