Oho Enthan Baby (2025) is heartfelt but uneven

Oho Enthan Baby is an honest take on love and relationships in 2025. The film is produced by Vishnu Vishal, who appears briefly in a cameo and in film shoot sequences within the story. The lead characters are sincere and grounded, which I appreciated. There are no over-the-top villains, drunk scenes, or punch dialogues—and that’s a welcome change. At the same time, the film offers no real twists or surprises, which makes it slightly flat as an entertainer. Still, I’ll recommend watching it. Mangoidiots gives it a Raw rating.

The story begins with Vishnu Vishal as a successful actor, listening to a script narrated by Ashwin, an aspiring director played by debutant K Rudhra. Ashwin’s story turns out to be his own. He has just broken up with Meera, and the film follows whether the two come back together.

Ashwin’s flashbacks take us through three stages of his love life. His school romance with a senior was portrayed sweetly—the young actors were excellent. His college episode was a laugh riot, in a good way. The third, with Meera, is where the film slows down and becomes more heartfelt. This is where Director Krishnakumar Ramakumar shines. There’s no Idhayam Murali-style longing here; the love is direct, mature, and very much in tune with 2025.

Mithila Palkar as Meera and Rudhra as Ashwin make a believable pair. Their friends bring life to the film—especially Nirmal Pillai as Rasna. What a name for a character! Karunakaran, Kasturi, and others play their parts well. The music by Jen Martin reminds us of past Tamil hits but feels apt and melodious. The editing is another strength—no stretched scenes or unwanted dialogues. I especially liked the line where the friend tells the hero, “Stop whining, just shut up and go tell her what you came here for”—a refreshingly honest moment.

If there’s one area the film could’ve done better, it’s by sticking to the core love story. The film shoot sequences with Vishnu Vishal and Mysskin felt like speed breakers in an otherwise neat flow.

Still, a solid debut. I wish Krishnakumar and Rudhra all success in their future films.
