Upload (TV Series) is the new sci-fi available on Amazon. The story revolves around Nathan (Robbie Amell) who dies in a car accident and gets his consciousness uploaded to a virtual resort where he can live for eternity and connect with the external world.
There was little original in the show, feels like an extended version of the episode of “San Junipero” from the famous Black Mirror, and, that makes the show less engaging. There were many logic gaps which were not covered at all: Why people living in the Upload can’t work when they can actually eat, use the bathroom and so on? When residents of the Upload can communicate to the outside world, how do they expect to keep enforcing the rule of they cannot work or earn? The technology used by the support engineers seems to be rudimentary and nothing futuristic.
The mystery of who killed Nathan keeps the story going. The TV Series is made by Emmy-winning Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks & Rec).
