In the past I have written about Nokia feature phones support Tamil unicode for display, menus and typing. Early this week I purchased online from ebay.in, a Nokia 301 Dual SIM mobile for Rs.4977. This is one of Nokia’s popular candy bar style phone running Series 40 OS. The Phone is  lightweight at 100g with a compact display 2.4 inches. I got it as a spare phone, it doesn’t have WiFi but supports data and have apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, email and even Exchange Sync email.

The device works well, has great battery life compared to smartphones. I didn’t expect this phone to have Tamil support, but it did. Full support from display, entire UI to typing in Tamil using T9. See the images below.
