I watched 100 Films in 2020. With only two days for the year-end, I realized I was close to reaching the 3-figure count and I will miss it. In the last 48 hours of 2020, I watched 7 films to reach the milestone. The last film ended exactly 3 minutes before midnight. I started the year with My Brother the Time Traveler (2017) and ended with Operation Christmas Drop (2020).

This was a personal goal that gave me a sense of satisfaction, that’s all. I watched many kinds of films. World Cinema transports me to places I will probably not get to visit and see the people up-close, that is what I like with cinemas made for Film Festivals. Earlier I needed to refer Wikipedia to understand what the climax I watched meant, but over the years, I have got better.

Below are a few statistics I observed on the type of films I watched last year:

Region-wise movies I watched in 2020 - 30 movies from Hollywood

Since theatres were closed for the most part of 2020, I watched over 39 films on streaming platforms and another 14 online through ICAF

The count represented in the charts are top picks and not all the categories were included.

For the records, I did watch 100 films in 2019 also. In 2018, I had my all-time best of about 135 films.

Enjoy cinemas. Have a happy and healthy new year 2021.
