Force Majeure (2014) is a Swedish comedy-drama, about the dynamics of a married couple with two kids while vacationing. A simple story filmed in breath-taking locations of the french alps, just for the cinematography, this film is a good watch. It is available on Disney+ Hotstar.
Ebba and Tomas are happily married to a young daughter Vera and a young boy Harry, they are staying for a few days at a luxury resort. Getting up early every day, they have breakfast and leave for skiing on the beautiful snow-covered slopes. One day, a controlled avalanche comes damn close to where they are eating their lunch, covering them with a thick fog of snow everywhere; in the commotion Tomas runs away to safety, leaving Ebba to protect & take care of the kids. For Ebba, this creates rift and mistrust towards her husband Tomas. How did they handle it? Did they resolve it?
In the climax, there is a scene of a bus full of tourist getting down from the mountains to the plains; the curves (hairpin bends as call them in India) appear to be less impressive & less safe than the ones I have driven in the Holy Tirupati hills in Andhra Pradesh, India.
