அசுரகுரு

Normally I am sceptical about Vikram Prabhu‘s film, he is a fine actor but his story selections have been bad (Kumki was an exception). With that mindset, I saw Asuraguru (அசுரகுரு) and was better than I expected.

The story is about a master thief who smells money anywhere and steals with ease from any place, however dangerous it may be. For a story like this, it is important to have an acceptable flashback, and that’s where Asuraguru falters. Vikram Prabhu has done the action scenes well. Jagan comes as his friend, supporting the main character. More than both of them, it was Mahima Nambiar who leaves her mark – coming as a detective, she rides a motorbike, takes on gangsters, and even smokes – which in my view is not a good thing or a sign of boldness, but it is certainly a rarity in Tamil cinema for an actress to do.

I am left wondering on what’s the connection between the title with the story?

Vikram Prabhu as Shakti and Mahima Nambiar as Diya in Asuraguru (அசுரகுரு)
