After watching Whatever works (2009) I was intrigued to watch Woody’s Allen earlier romantic film made in 1970s – Annie Hall (1977). The story is about why the relationship between comedian Alvy Singer (Woody Allen) and Annie Hall (Diane Keaton) ended a year ago. Rest of the film is interesting flashbacks and recall of past events including Alvy’s past marriages.
The self obsessed, random narrative style should have felt very different to the audience in 1970s. And that what makes the film still fresh when you watch it after 40 years. A must watch classic in the Romantic Comedy genre.
