Looking at the title and the layout of the posters don’t get fooled, it is just to take advantage of Bahubali’s popularity and the film is not of that genre. Anushka Shetty starring Bhaagamathie (2018) is a modern-day political corruption story with a now familiar ghost bungalow backdrop.
Chanchala (Anushka Shetty) is an honest IAS officer who is in prison on a murder charge, she is taken to an abandoned palace in the forest for questioning. There are paranormal activities happening there. The first half that happens inside the ghost bungalow was a total drag. The last twenty minutes saves an otherwise dull screenplay. Jayaram who appears as an honest central minister has given a fitting performance.
Overall, an unimaginative thriller film that can be avoided.
