Gravity 2013 is a new science fiction action movie staring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Directed by Alfronso Cuarón this is a 3D film.

I saw this movie today in PVR Cinemas @Ampa Skywalk.

The film has just 3 characters shown and its 99% about Sandra Bullock’s character. We are shown close-up shots only of her and she has done a fine job in her role. The story is about 3 astronauts doing a space walk repairing a satellite when suddenly due to a mishap in a Russian satellite, debris are flying all around Earth damaging almost all satellites including theirs and all communication with Houston broken. The rest of the film is all about the survival struggle of Sandra Bullock’s character. The entire film (except last 2 minutes) happens in outer space with the dark sky/stars as background and in the interiors of a space station. The film is only 90 minutes long and the Director has done a brilliant job of narrating the story in that time and keeps us at edges of our seat.

The film is all about its 3D visuals, without which the film might not have had the impact it has now. Seeing earth’s blue globe far from sky at out of the world (pun intended) perspective and the visual clarity are breathtaking. Just for this its worth seeing the movie in a theatre.

A nice to see movie for its visual experience & story telling.
