Kathiravanin Kodai Mazhai (2016)

Today in Chennai International Film Festival I saw was Director Kathiravanin Kodai Mazhai (கோடை மழை). The film that runs for 104 minutes tells the story of an Army man who falls in love with a local girl in his hometown Sankarankovil during his summer holidays. Unfortunately the realistic love story takes a sad twist in the end like in Rummy (2014).
The cinematography by the director himself showing the village and it’s surroundings is brilliant, we literally spend the hour & half in Sankarankovil. Songs written by Kaviarasu Vairamuthu for the film are a treat to listen, good composition by Sambasivam. The songs “Pothi Vacha” and “Pattala Rasave” keeps ringing even after I left the theatre. The lead pair of Kannan and SriPriyanka have done their roles perfectly.
