Bridgerton (2020-) is a historic fiction that happens during the regency era (early 19th century) of Great Britain. Recently season two of the show got released, so I was curious and watched the first season, I was impressed. The show transports us to a long bygone era with its warm romance, the unashamed display of wealth & power, and pleasing visuals, providing good entertainment to those who like period dramas. In the beginning, Slow Horses (2022-) reminded me of an episode of Black Mirror but soon it paves its own path and got me hooked to complete the entire season. It is about a division of the UK’s MI5, called Slough House, is where the hopeless in the spy agency got assigned. Their role was to report to work and not do anything, the real work got done in the HQ at Regent’s park. In recent times, Kollywood has produced two “Delicious” movies, Visaranai (2016) and Jai Bhim (2021) that highlighted the systematic flaws in the Indian Police system, which is unable to shrug off its colonial origins. Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal (காத்துவாக்குல ரெண்டு காதல்) is a love story starring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara & Samantha Ruth Prabhu, directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film was based on a kind of triangular love, an ideal plot for comedy and romance, unfortunately, it fails to impress due to a spiritless screenplay. It gets my Raw rating.
