In 100 (2019), Atharvaa comes as an energetic and dedicated police officer recruit. He gets assigned to the department manning the police helpline number 100. Feeling caged and with no scope for on-the-field action, he starts sneaking out and tackling crimes on his own. If you are reminded of Mahesh Babu‘s Spyder (2017), Director Sam Anton is likely to feel elated, as 100 (2019) doesn’t attempt to be as sophisticated or detailed as the A.R.Murugadoss film.

Though having nothing original, the film sails through because of an emotionally strong cause that was shown. Till the very end, we were not able to guess who was the ‘true’ villain – this added an element of suspense. Hansika Motwani is the heroine but almost does a guest appearance. Yogi Babu has done his supporting role, providing comedy relief at the right places. But it is the (late) Cheenu Mohan, who impresses us with his subdued acting on playing a negative role that was unlikely of him.
