This week the 64th National Film Awards have been announced and three Tamil films have won awards under different categories.
I am glad that the political satire Joker, by Raju Murugan has won the Best Tamil Film award, a well-deserved award for an under appreciated film. Kaviarasu Thiru.Vairamuthu has been given the best lyrics award for his song ”
Kaviarasu Thiru.Vairamuthu has been given the best lyrics award for his song “Endha Pakkam” in the film Dharma Durai, a soothing song that is penned to help a character recovering from a drastic loss and trying to start a new life.
When you watched 24 starring Suriya you were wowed with the set construction and props used, especially the science lab of the inventor and the watch repair shop of younger Suriya, so it was no surprise for me to learn the film has won the best production design award.
Congrats to all the winners. I hope this encourages upcoming filmmakers.
