I have been using JBL Flip2 Bluetooth speaker to listen to music from my iPad Air2 or phone, I was quite happy with the small and lightweight device till my sister liked it and took it with her. Now I had to shop for a new one, it’s not that I needed a reason to buy new!. The requirement for me was a not heavy Bluetooth speaker that has reasonable audio quality, ideally less than Rs.10,000 (USD 150), good battery life, NFC and ability to be used as a speakerphone. I checked our models from JBL, Bose & Sony and impressed with specs went with Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2. It was costing INR 18,000 from Amazon India, USD 170 (INR 11,200) in Amazon USA which is where I ordered and asked a friend who was visiting India to bring it with him.

Disclosure: I write reviews about products that I have bought for my usage or my friends and paid in full. There were no sponsorship or advertisement, or commission of any sort involved in this post.

At nearly 990 grams it is heavier and bulkier than the JBL Flip2 (800 grams) but has tons of features, most I may not use but it’s there – Five Drivers, NFC, Built-in MP3 player to play songs from microSD, 8 hour battery life, Aux-In, Voice Recorder to microSD, Speakerphone and Power bank. You can use it as the speaker for your PC or Mac via USB as well.  The Roar and Terra Bass feature add extra Bass if you wish.

Apart from the given 15V charger, you can charge using any standard micro-USB charger like the one we use for our smartphones. I like the audio quality, feels to be a good buy. I need to be careful not to drop it anywhere, it doesn’t feel like it will survive a fall.
